Confession Time: I went a bit absolutely crazy in the past two months. I already shared that big shopping trip at the end of March, and the other one I had for my birthday at the beginning of April. Unfortunately, I have to admit that it didn’t stop there. And, honestly, I don’t know where the money for it came from. Do I regret it? You are so funny!
Okay, so, you know how it is. It’s your birthday, people give you money, you go to the next-best book-shop to spend it all. Well, I cannot go to the next-best, ‘cause they only do German, so I went to town and into Thalia. They have one mini-shelf with English books in which I usually find one I’d like to read. Or two. You know, I’m flexible like that.
I also went to the German side of things for two reasons. 1) So much more to choose from. 2) I’m tending to forget the German language, my mother tongue after all, when I spend too much time in the English-speaking realm. So, every once in a while, it needs to be a book in German.
Yesterday, I went, quite spontaneously and with a bit too much money in my pockets, to the bookstore. Now, they have to restock that very small shelf of English books.
No, it wasn’t quite so drastic, but I definitely exceeded my limit. And I don’t even feel guilty.
Without further ado, here they are:
Der Moment, in dem du anfängst ein wunderbares Buch zu lesen, das allerdings Teil einer Trilogie ist und du nur den ersten Band zuhause hast. Was tust du?
Was soll ich sagen? Ich bin trotzdem groß einkaufen gegangen.
Because I am so thankful every time an E-Mail says “Congrats — You are a Giveaways Winner!”, I have decided to show it by posting about it regularly, monthly.
I’ve wanted to do this post for such a long time. And I finally told myself: No more delays!
Basically, I have entered most of the goodreads giveaways since August, in hopes for new reading material and, most of all, new reading experiences. I have been lucky enough to win a few books already, mostly in German, but also two in English – so here’s a reason to do this post in English, too.
