Hi, I’m Annie!
In November 2015, I have finished my MA programme “English Studies”, focus literature and culture. My thesis, if you are interested, was about three Victorian industrial novels, Mary Barton and North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell and Shirley by Charlotte Brontë. Apart from British classics, I enjoy romance, young adult and fantasy novels.
Currently, I am giving English coaching and am about to start working with refugees, teaching them the German language and culture.
I have recently decided to change my rating and review system (again). Where, previously, I tried to incorporate as many factors as possible, I have now decided to give some basic but interesting facts about the book, as well as a short overview of what did strike me as positive about the book.
Ratings are always given, in accordance with goodreads, out of 5 stars. Here’s my interpretation:
5 – loved everything about it
4 – really good book
3 – great entertainment
2 – mostly good
1 – dnf
I will keep blogs and reviews mostly in English, but will switch to German, especially if I read the book in German. Translations may be requested.
Since I am not a native speaker of English, please feel free to comment on major mistakes!
